ABOUT RAQUETTA DOTLEY

Raquetta Dotley is a dedicated community leader, advocate, and public servant proudly representing Chattanooga’s District 7 on the City Council. Grounded in a commitment to economic development, equity, and meaningful community engagement, she works to build stronger neighborhoods by connecting people to opportunity and ensuring every voice is heard.
Dotley made history as the first African American woman to serve as Chair of the Chattanooga City Council (2023–2024) and has continued her leadership as Chair of multiple committees to include, Equity and Community Development (2021 - 2023), Public Safety (2024–2025), Budget (2025-present), and Affordable Housing (2025-present) reflecting her commitment to well-rounded, informed leadership. Her approach is rooted in the belief that exposure, collaboration, and diverse perspectives lead to more impactful policy decisions.
A champion for neighborhood equity, Dotley focuses on building systems and relationships that strengthen communities—economically, socially, and civically—while ensuring that historically overlooked voices have access to opportunity. She is a strong advocate for transparency and accountability in city government, working to align investments with community priorities and drive sustainable growth across Chattanooga. From major economic development projects to neighborhood-level improvements, she remains focused on creating safe, thriving, and connected communities.
Beyond her role on City Council, Dotley serves as Executive Director of the Net Resource Foundation, where she leads efforts to support under-resourced communities through strategic programming and partnerships. Through her leadership, Raquetta Dotley remains committed to building stronger communities and a more inclusive Chattanooga for all.
