ABOUT RAQUETTA DOTLEY
Raquetta Dotley is a committed community leader and advocate, currently serving as the City Councilwoman for Chattanooga’s District 7. With a strong focus on economic development, equity, and community engagement, Dotley has made significant strides in improving the lives of her constituents. She has held notable positions, including Chair of the Public Safety Committee (2024-2025) and was the first African-American woman to serve as Chair of the Chattanooga City Council (2023-2024).
As an advocate for neighborhood equity, Dotley is dedicated to ensuring that all communities have a voice in local government and that resources are allocated equitably. Her efforts emphasize transparency and accountability in city budgeting, ensuring that economic development initiatives align with the needs and priorities of the community. She also prioritizes addressing infrastructure concerns, such as road safety and transportation, to enhance the quality of life across Chattanooga.
In addition to her council role, Dotley is actively involved in several organizations, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she fosters civic engagement and leadership. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Net Resource Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at supporting under-resourced communities.
